THE GREAT PLAN OF HAPPINESS

According to The Great Plan, under the direction of Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ created the heavens and the earth.  God the Father prepared the earth where His children could experience mortality, receive a physical body, exercise agency, and be tested to see if they would do all things God directed them to do to qualify to return and live with Him and Jesus Christ again.  Adam and Eve, the first man and woman on earth, were formed by God and given bodies that resembled those of our heavenly parents.  God's first instruction to Adam and Eve pertained to their potential for parenthood as husband and wife, to multiply and replenish the earth.

As spirit children of God, we chose to leave His presence to obtain a physical body, live by faith and continue to progress to be more like God.  Jesus Christ is our perfect example to follow.

Discipleship is a lifelong journey of intentional choices to follow our ultimate Exemplar, Jesus Christ, and grow our relationship with Him and our Heavenly Father so that we become more like Them in our attitudes, focus and behavior. Discipleship is a lifetime commitment to follow God with our whole soul.

God wants us to press forward to the Tree of Life, a representation of His Love for us manifested through His Son, and partake of the Tree's fruit which will fill our souls with exceedingly great joy because this fruit is the most precious and most desirable of all fruit; it is the greatest of all the gifts of God.
